Cabo San Lucas Mexico!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two weeks ago we were invited to a wedding in Mexico for one of my mom's friends' sons. They had not seen each other since high school, and my mom really wanted to go. I was not really thrilled with the idea because I had never met any of them, and I thought it would be awkward. Nevertheless, my mom decided that she was going and that I was going with her. So I went through the motions of packing (in a hurry because we flew out the next day) and getting ready to go. I tried to be excited for her sake, but I was not really feeling it. When we got to Cabo, there were teary reunions for my mom and her friend, and I kind of felt out of place. However, it turned out that all my worries were unnecessary, because I soon found myself talking to them like I'd known them forever.
We went to the wedding which turned out BEAUTIFUL. Everyone was in their formals, and the couple was married by a Mexican minister in a gazebo on the beach. I've never been to such a beautiful, tear inspiring wedding in my life.

After the wedding we took a million and one pictures of the bride and groom on the beach next to the ocean with the waves behind them.

They had a candlelit reception in the sand on the beach, with the sunset in the background. It was amazing. One of the workers even drew pictures, and wrote sayings in the sand for them. Ever seen a sand squeegee before? ;)

During dinner, the wedding party stood up and gave heartfelt speeches about the bride and groom, and their journey together before getting married. All of this was very sweet, and it helped me to get to know them better through the stories told by their families.
The food was amazing too. There were a bunch of diferent courses, but my favorites were the steak served over potatoes, with spicy gravy; and the creme brulee that they served with fresh berries and a stick of carmelized sugar.

Needless to say I went to sleep that night very content. Full of love and good food.

Tomorrow I will write about our second day in Mexico.
