Yesterday we arrived in Quebec, Canada. The first leg of our fifteen day journey-which I have been busy preparing for. I am going to try to update everyone about it with lots of details and pictures so get ready.
Our current plan of travel is:
Oakland County, Michigan to Quebec, Canada. Here (in Quebec) we will stay at my grandpa's apartment for a few days and visit some family, until we hit the road again with Grandpa, and all our luggage in tow. Heading toward Cape May, New Jersey on the east coast. We'll drive through Montreal, Canada and across the border. Through New York to see the sights along the way and finally arrive in New Jersey.
Today, we met some of my mom's family for breakfast at a restaurant called Pacini. It makes me laugh when you go somewhere and pay way too much money to get low quality food. Here's the thing: some people think that if it tastes good it doesn't matter what it looks like. While others think that if it looks good, who cares what it tastes like. I'm different. I think that in order for you to really enjoy a meal, it not only has to taste good, it also has to smell enticing and look appealing. Pacini did a great job with presentation, but they sacrificed the taste. The best part of the entire restaurant was the grill/toaster. They have a grill set up near the center of the dining room, and behind it cabinets with different kinds of bread and a counter with various spreads and jams. First you pick out what kind of bread you want, whether it's wheat, raisin, or plain white it'll be great. Then you can pick a spread to put on it; garlic, pesto, tomato basil, or just plain butter. After buttering both sides of your bread of choice you simply drop it onto the grill and let the grill do the rest. Even though the food wasn't the best, the grill/toaster kinda made up for it. :)
Please pray for our safety while we travel and that we are shining light for Jesus no matter where we are or what we are doing.
